Our Story

The African Professionals Network (APNET) was founded in 2010, emerging from the strong connections and friendships formed among African alumni at Northern Kentucky University (NKU). Initially sparked by ongoing discussions among these graduates, the organization was created to assist individuals of African descent in integrating into their new communities, connecting with local networks, graduating from college, and pursuing successful careers.

APNET quickly grew into the leading support network for Africans living in the region, offering a welcoming environment for new immigrants. The organization continues to foster connections across the Tristate, emphasizing the importance of the region’s economic, social, and cultural growth. Through various networking events, community service initiatives, and partnerships with local organizations, APNET has become a vital resource for African immigrants, helping them navigate their new environment while promoting a progressive image of Africa.
